Our Annual Campaign

Four year old Henry is a special child. He lights up a room and brings joy to everyone around him. But Henry hasn’t always been comfortable in the spotlight.

When Henry first started working with the therapists at Adult & Child Therapy Services, his mother’s main concern was his inability to interact with other children, his teacher and even his grandparents. He was withdrawn and didn’t want to participate in group activities. Henry also struggled with his speech and motor skills such as holding onto a crayon, climbing and jumping. With the help of occupational and speech therapists, Henry has made great strides. He has no trouble making friends or meeting new people. He is now able to pedal a bike, climb like a champion and make pieces of artwork for his mom and dad to treasure. Recently, Henry even spoke in front of an entire crowd of participants at one of our special events with ease.

It is the time for Adult & Child Therapy Services' Annual Campaign for 2012. This is ACTS' biggest campaign of the year with a $100K goal and a mission to help the physically challenged and disabled of any age.

Adult & Child Therapy Services provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as home health care. ACTS has been providing services to the residents of McHenry County for over 60 years. They have helped hundreds of residents, like Ava, in the last year alone when many had no where else to turn.

ACTS provides services to people of all ages such as fall prevention screening for seniors, birth to three screenings for children who experience delays, sensory therapy for autistic children, physical therapy for stroke victims, lymphedema therapy, and so many more. Because ACTS receives no government funding, they rely on the generosity of area residents, businesses, clubs or organizations for support.
